I realized that I needed to beef up my texture skills (as well as modeling skills) so I decided to finally work on a piece (pun intended) that I've been wanting to do for a while now.
Above is my progress so far. I've thrown on a generic metal shader so I can see how my modeling is affecting reflections and such. Also, pay no attention to the grip, it's just temp geometry to see how my proportions are turning out.
Even though I don't own or will own a gun anytime soon, I am fascinated by them. I think I am fascinated more with the science behind this impressive machine more than the thought of hunting.
Anyway, I am learning a lot about hard surface modeling with polygons and it's this- it requires a ton of planning before any actual modeling begins, and for that I salute you modelers.
